Our brand new album titled simply “Musik” is currently in the works. It will take some time, as we want this to be an even better album than “The Aumega Sessions”, which reached Top-5 in the Underground Charts of the German Eclipsed-Rock Magazin for June 2018. So, enough of jam-sessions (though there will be free form madness on the new album for sure), and time to get to serious (though always with a sense of humor) songwriting… also master the new synths that appeared at Via Kosmische. We think the new, and very cool, album will be ready for January 2019… until then, fellow space tourists!
After Aumega Sessions, we had some leftover jams that we edited and released as “Emptorus Reperitus”, a faux latin title, which is a tribute to Blue Cheer. We also had some unfinished A.J. Kaufmann material, for songs he wrote as a kid, and finished in 2018, motivated by tapes he found during his move from one apartment to another. It’s called “Telegraph Hill Conservation Area”. We hope you enjoy the albums. We also had a nice radio session for the local Radio Afera station – in a no-bass line-up, completed in Poznan just a day before entering the radio studio. So it was really a loose poetic jam broadcasted live. More news on that in a seperate post….
Here are the albums:
Sauer Adler’s brand new track, “The Hurricane”, is now up on soundcloud. We hope you enjoy it!
A new The Sauer Adler album, “Polish Tribal Music” is in its writing stages right now… we hope to share a new track by the end of the year. In the meantime, why not check out the A.J. Kaufmann solo catalogue @ http://ajkaufmann.bandcamp.com. We suggest starting with “Stoned Gypsy Wanderer” (2014) or “Kaufi” (2015), and moving from there into various albums, demos and ideas of the Sauer Adler main man. Hope you enjoy the sound, the vision, the music!
Things got so busy at Sauer Adler HQ, that we forgot to share the news about the new album, “Trippen Mit…” here. It’s been released August 5 2016. It is available for free @ our bandcamp page http://saueradler.bandcamp.com. Enjoy!
The new Sauer Adler album, “Trippen Mit…” is almost almost ready… Inspired by Melvins, krautrock, science fiction b- or even z-movies, road movies, The Who, Kurt Cobain’s wildest live solo guitar, Butthole Surfers, The Residents, Chrome, Hawaiian shirts, straw hats, jam sessions with local musicians, books about Russian submarines, random Polish art postcards, Norman Spinrad, and pornographic lighters it promises a lo-fi DIY brutalist rock sound experience unlike anything else you’ve possibly heard before, yet somewhat familiar to ears accustomed to space rock and krautrock. Here’s the first track off this album, “Wings”. Hope you enjoy, Sauer Adler!
The new Sauer Adler album, “Street Dada Brutalismus” was recorded between London and Poznan, Poland this summer. It contains 10 new tracks in the A.J. Kaufmann-coined genre of “brutalist rock”, focusing on recording first takes only, lazy vocals, dirty guitar riffs, mostly muddy and atonal guitar solos, primitive drum machines and even more primitive electronics. Our inspiration to make this album credited to “The Sauer Adler” started with the “Cold War Kid” track transformed from a heavy riffed rocker to electronic oddity earlier this year, when we both thought, hey, let’s make an album together, while aural impulses ranged from various Polish punk rock bands like Moskwa or Brak, Chrome, Ramones, early Pink Floyd, Hawkwind, Black Sabbath, Amon Duul II, Van der Graaf Generator, to brutalist architecture, old mystic books and nursery rhymes sheet music which made love to our ears in high concrete fashion. Recording was done live direct to the machine, but took about two months with large breaks for various life-related reasons, and turned out a bit claustrophobic, especially on headphones. We had much fun making this album, and we hope you will have lots of fun listening to it. Yours, Doctor&Luna, “The Sauer Adler”, 2016.
